DESCRIPTION
The fishing boat Fish Cat 460 was created at the special request of tourist anglers within the Danzig Bay and the Hel Peninsula. So far the waters of the south Baltic sea have been dominated by large units designed for deep-sea fishing and those units were only adjusted to tourist angling requirements. The disadvantage of this solution was the fact that a specified (quite large) number of fishing enthusiasts had to go on each cruise, whereas the cruises took a relatively long time and not each fishery, particularly from the bay, could be reached by those units. Those issues were the main arguments for creating the Fish Cat 460. Despite its small size, with the hull being only 4,60 m long, it is a boat which can take 5 anglers and a steersman aboard. Anglers sit broadside to the sailing direction with angle handles in front of them and a seat locker where caught fish may be stored. However, the main advantage of the Fish Cat is its stability and safety it provides. The boat is supported by 2 floats, 2,52 m wide each, owing to which it may swing to sides resembling a small catamaran. Even if all anglers find themselves on one side, the boat is still stable and safe. Additionally, people seating in the cockpit are surrounded by high rails-protected sides, thanks to which anglers do not have to worry about their safety. The boat has a slight draft of 0,38 m, therefore it is possible to fish within the whole bay basin, also in the shallows along the Hel Peninsula shoreline. The boat is powered by an outboard engine of 9- 25 hp capacity. It has the certificate issued by Polski Rejestr Statków [Polish Ship Register] for the design category C. |
